Lumberton - Week 23

Hey!

I had one really exciting experience that I wanted to share from this past week.

I was on exchanges with Elder Smith last Friday.  We planned to go to an area to find some new people to teach and to follow up with some people we had already talked to. It was a few miles away so we jumped on our bikes and started off. We got about a mile down the road and Elder Smith's chain broke. We thought of a few other things we could do but felt like we needed to go that area. So we walked, it was only 100 degrees, so it was a lot of fun!

While we were walking a lady stopped and told us we needed a car or a bike or something. Haha, but we kept going. We got to the first house, sat down, and had a good conversation.  We followed up with another lady and set up a time to come back.

As we walked into the street I felt like we should just stop, So we did. About 20 Seconds later, the same lady that had stopped us earlier called out to us and asked what we were doing. We told her, "We teach about Jesus."  She yelled to us, "Come teach MY family about Jesus!" So we walked over and went inside her house. When we got inside, her family just started asking all kinds of questions, like "why are there so many churches?  Why is it so confusing?" or "why does God let bad things happen to good people?" All questions that the scriptures have answers for. We had a wonderful lesson with them, and I know everything worked out just so we could find them, even Elder Smith's chain breaking!

"Now  ye may suppose that this is foolishness in me; but behold I say unto you, that by small and simple things are great things brought to pass; and small means in many instances doth confound the wise."  - Alma 37:6

Love Y'all!
