Hey y'all!
Last week was nuts. I slept in my bed only 3 times, I think.
We did two exchanges, so I was in Pembroke Tuesday and then Cameron on Wednesday. On Tuesday I was with Elder Garrik, he has been out for 6 weeks and is a lot of fun. Their plan for that day was to bike all over the place, so I got to bike 17 miles in the bitter cold. I was bundled up, so I was just fine, but after a couple hours Elder Garrik was coughing a lot and said his chest was hurting, so at the next gas station we went in for a little while for him to warm up. After that he was doing a whole lot better, and the rest of the night was a lot of fun.
On Wednesday, there was a Worldwide Missionary Broadcast. The theme was "Teach Repentance and Baptize Converts." It was super good! I learned a lot about the importance of repentance and how through constant and consistent repentance, that is what will get us to our Father in Heaven again.
After the broadcast I was with Elder Hancock. He has also been out 6 weeks. We went tracting in the cold for a couple hours. I got the short end of the stick a lot this last week. :) It was awesome though, we found this man at 2050 named John. We taught him the Restoration in his driveway while he was out for a cigarette. He loved it and said the Elders could come back to teach him and his wife.
Friday night there was an ice storm that came through and knocked out our power and that day we got instructions not to drive, and be super cautious on the icy roads. We went over to a Part member familys house, Brian and Tristen (they are both 19, no kids). We taught them and had Mark over, he is another investigator. They bonded really well and then on Sunday we were at the Dagley's house with Mark, they were the ones who introduced us to Mark, and he said he wanted to get baptized after he quits smoking. We testified to him that if he read and prayed everyday he would be able to give up smoking.
Love y'all!
Love,
Elder Harper
